Ramblings
May 4th, 2006» Stressed for nothing
- 11:34 pm
Everything was fine until the lab session today. I, perhaps due to lack of sleep the day before, was feeling very frustrated towards the end of the lab session. It almost seemed like an emotion breakdown and it shocked me hard as I had never, in my whole life, encountered myself losing my cool like that.
During the lab, I spoke slowly as if I would burst out shouting if I were to speak normally, I was insensitive towards people working with me and I was extremely easily irritated. Despite knowing what I had to do for my assignment, I did not know what I was doing. Mistakes were overlooked or repeated again and again. Everything just felt wrong.
It’s weird as I can’t seem to pinpoint the reason for me to behave that way other than lacking sleep.
I’m one step closer to insanity, I guess.
And, I shall grab some sleep now.
April 25th, 2006» A visit to TP Band
- 10:10 am
Yesterday, I went to TP Band for a visit. The band don’t sound good, as expected. Nevertheless, I do feel that the visit is quite an experience. It made me reconsider my opinion about joining the band there.
I’m quite disappointed for there seems to only have armstrong flutes and that the repertoire that night are simple and sight-read friendly.
As for seehua, one of my best friends, who brought my junior and I down, please do not feel appologetic for the band’s playing. We aren’t some snobs who think band that does not play fantastically good aren’t worthy of our time. I know you know me better than that ya? Infact, we are grateful to you for bringing us down.
April 23rd, 2006» Orientation
- 1:23 pm
Last week was a busy, and very tiring, week. It was TP’s school, applied science, orientation. However, the programme is, other than the many many unoriginal cheers and somewhat interesting storyline and theme, really nothing amusing.
Well, I did find out some “educational” facts about the school though:
- Mensa2 Foodcourt in TP has 144 chairs.
- There are a total of 2 BBQ pits in the campus.
- Engineering school has 10 vending machines.
- A painting, “Right Angle”, exists in design school.
As well as some not-so-educational “facts” about the school:
- TP has 30 football fields as said by the CM.
- It’s a 1 km walk from the school to the reservoir as said by the emcee.
Well, perhaps the most important thing I learned from the 3 days orientation is that the food in the brand new air-conditioned canteen in AS are expensive. Which is told by my friend long ago and reinforced again and again by the OLs and CP.
Anyway, despite saying all that, I’m still looking forward to my week 1 starting on monday. I’ve had enough of slacking.
