The definition of being ready for this concert is not quite the same as what it is for the previous one. I don’t just want the band to be able to play the pieces like what we did before because the standard of playing of the current band is actually higher and we are really capable of doing much better than our last concert.

For the majority of my time in the band when I was a year1 student, I’ve been an observer. Most people don’t even know me (well enough). I’m just this person who plays the flute decently and turns up for practices on Mondays and Fridays.

It was, however, fun in the past, I really think so. We get to go for dinner when the band is about to start and then take our own sweet time to come for the practice (no sarcasm intended, I really enjoyed that freedom). We had so much bonding in our own cliques too (ya, cliques exist now and had always existed). We don’t even need to come for practices if we feel too tired from school and there isn’t a need to answer for our absence. Then, there just wasn’t anyone to draw the line of what is expected and we just did whatever we wanted.

We all do miss the days in the past (all the great time we had), but do we not look forward to the future too?

Is it better for the people to look forward to activities after or for people to look forward to the practices itself?

I have people asking if the bandroom will be open before 12pm, so they can practise, when the practice starts only at 6.30pm.

I wonder.

More rantings you might not want to hear. But, I haven’t quite gotten over some stuffs that happened lately. It’s been bothering me a lot and it makes me rather reluctant to go back to my normal school routine. I hate it when I do run away from problems as it’s really not my style.

Also, some people sure pick the worse possible period to have a “relationship crisis” with me and isn’t making life any better. It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever encountered and it does leave anyone caught in that situation to scream “what the heck did I do wrong?” and “what exactly is it that you want?”. Either way, I really can’t really help it if certain people people have to carry such an attitude towards me for no apparent reason.

The only thing that’s keeping me from breaking down now is perhaps the band. Perhaps it’s the passion I have for it, or maybe the extra responsibilities I have in it, that’s forcing me to stand strong and well.

I wonder how much longer I can last.
